His Plea
Pancakes
***Important update***
Sadly, Pancakes passed away on March 9th, 2010
He fought so hard but his little body couldn't bear anymore.
He did not die because of lack of medical options. The fundraiser was an incredible success and because of you, he had all doors open. We simply got him too late and there was too much to fight against. We never abandoned his side, we let him fight for as long as he wanted to keep living, which he did, all the way through.
I am leaving the text below on here for a while for nostagiac reasons.

Pancakes needs your help!
That's Pancakes down there. Cute, isn't he?
That's his good side.
No, really. I'm not joking. That's the only picture I have of Pancakes that shows his good side only.
Pancakes is afflicted with an abscess. A very, very bad infection that was left untreated by his previous owners. He was dumped (for lack of a better word) onto someone I know. They couldn't afford to fix Pancakes. I have been trying, but I've had him less than 2 weeks (less than a pay-period) and he has already had 3 vet visits. You can read about his story
here
.
Pancakes is a fighter. Despite all his hardship, he is eating and drinking, and playing. He is one of the friendliest bunnies I have ever seen. Cuddly and affectionate. He is truly a loving and wonderful bunny.
I am doing my best to help him fight but I fear I may not make it.
I don't know how many more vet visits there will be. I don't know how long this will take or what he will need before he is 100% better again.
All I know is that in the last 2 weeks, he's been through hell and he's, in best-case-scenerio, only halfway through his journey. I don't know if I can afford to help him through his whole journey. He needs your help.
If you own a pet, then you can easily imagine th sinking feeling of sorrow deep in your chest at the mere thought of looking into your pet's oblivious eyes, while knowing you can save him if you only had enough money to do it, and what terrible pain you feel when, through your tears, you tell them that you are sorry but they must go to a better place, while the doctor prepares tp put them to sleep because...economically...it's just not feesible.
Pancakes is a fighter and has a great chance at recovery. I don't want to fail him. I don't want to cry while holding him, telling him that I'm sorry, I can't afford to keep him alive.
Please take a moment, read through his story, check up on his status, and help if you can.
Thanks,
Dustin
